The UFO ‘Cover-Up’! True or False? On Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 from 7pm EST – 11pm EST, IRN aired a special live presentation of the “2012 UFO ‘Cover-Up’ Debate” . This debate was moderated by the esteemed journalist Leslie Kean and contested by the respected researchers and authors, Dr. John Alexander and Richard Dolan. Listeners had a chance to listen in, call-in, participate, and decide which side made a better case for the widely discussed argument of whether the government plays a role in UFO investigations…..

THE TOPIC: UFOs & THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT
THE ARGUMENT: DOES THE UNITED STATES GOV’T COVER-UP KNOWLEDGE OF UFOS WITH THE USE OF DEEP BLACK UFO RESEARCH PROGRAMS BURIED SOMEWHERE WITHIN GOVERNMENT OR WITHIN GOVERNMENT-LINKED STRUCTURES?
THE MODERATOR: LESLIE KEAN is an independent investigative journalist with a background in freelance writing and radio broadcasting. She has contributed articles to dozens of publications including the Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Providence Journal, and several more. She is also the author of “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record“.
THE INSTIGATOR: RICHARD DOLAN is among the world’s most prominent UFO researchers, and is considered by many to be the world’s pre-eminent historian of the subject. He is the author of two volumes of history, “UFOs and the National Security State“, as well as an analysis of the future, “A.D. After Disclosure: The People’s Guide to Life After Contact“.
THE CONTENDER: DR. JOHN B. ALEXANDER has been a leading advocate for the development of non-lethal weapons since he created renewed interest in the field starting in 1989. In 2003 he served as a mentor to Afghan Ministry of Defense senior officials through the Office of Military Cooperation – Afghanistan, (Coalition Forces) Kabul. Dr. Alexander is also the author of “UFOs: Myths, Conspiracies, and Realities“.
COMMENTS FROM THE GALLERY:
I enjoyed your debate with Richard Dolan, although it was difficult to listen to some of Dolan’s claims. Specifically the Stephenville case. I investigated the case, interviewed a dozen witnesses, and I did the actual radar analysis along with Glen Schulz. Obviously, Dolan never read our actual report. The F16s never chased the UFO according to radar. Steve Allen was the only witness that I ever found who was willing to state that he saw F16s chasing the UFO. The FAA never made any claims as to what was there. I obtained the radar data from the FAA and then analyzed it.
It is unfortunate that the Stephenville case has been so badly mangled by some ufologists because it is a very interesting case. The radar data shows the actual locations of the F16s the entire time as well as what was probably an AWACS. The amazing part is that the F16s never reacted to the UFOs, and one would think that they had to see them on their own radar. At one point in time two F16s are within one mile of the unknown yet continue on their way to the MOA. The radar data also twice confirms different witness visual observations with radar detection of the object. It is difficult to determine extreme speeds with radar by simply calculating time and distance because an object traveling at 2000mph without a transponder can easily be lost in the clutter. But my best guess was that this object moved at 1900-2000 mph at one point in time when the witness also described the object as moving much much faster than a jet. And surprisingly we did receive over 100 hits on an object moving at an average speed of 47mph towards the Crawford Ranch. This object at one point in time accelerated from 47mph to over 500mph in something less than 10 seconds, which was the rotation rate of the radar antenna and then de-accelerated to 0mph in the next 10 seconds. But the really strange part was that this object moved into restricted air space with no reaction from the F16s. In past events, pilots of piper cubs in the area had been escorted down for violating the air space at Crawford Ranch. I sent a FOIA to NORAD and received a reply that they had no radar information of any unknown in that location on January 8, 2008. Well, I know that they have access to FAA data through the Joint Surveillance System. So the data that I had…they had. I replied to NORAD and volunteered to work with any of their radar specialists to show them my data and allow them to show me my error. I never received a reply. I would be interested in your thoughts regarding this.
Anyway, Dolan was wrong in his claims about Stephenville.
